So I appreciate the fact that this place was open late on a regular weekday. And we were sat outside/ inside was kind of on the border of the outside patio. It was a beautiful night so it wasn't that bad. Service was quick and we were served our drinks. Our server came, took our order and our food came out super quick. This is my second time trying this place. The first time was through DoorDash so this time being able to actually sit in the restaurant and get the food as soon as it comes out. I must say it was pretty good. The chips and salsa to start. We're pretty good. And the food came out presented well and was super tasty. I would definitely recommend this place.
Love the vibe and the service here! Cicadas is a great place to come hang out and have a few drinks and some food with friends. So far I Got the chile relleno plate and that was good! The rice was green and interesting. I would definitely give it another try. The chile relleno was cheesy and delicious. Tacos are $1 on Tuesdays, during happy hour. They are smaller than your typical street tacos but flavorful. The barbacoa might be my favorite choice of meat here. I love the thin crispy cantina chips and their salsa is yummy. Their margaritas/mixed drinks came out in a large margarita cup. Shocked with the size. They even have fruit infused tequila! Definitely a must try. Place is clean and workers are awesome. Also love the sanitizer when I first walked in. Lots of parking in the lot, don't think I've been when it was super busy though.
Would love to give this location a 5 star. BUT the cleanliness here definitely needed great attention. Front the first table that we were going to be seated at to the cleanliness of the woman's bathroom. Important areas of neglect. My plate looked great for presentation but the chili relleno was not the best from what I know it to taste like from other locations that offer this dish. So I just ate the black beans and rice. The drinks on the other hand, were great and tasty! And our server was really nice and attentive. Never had to guess or wonder where he was. The ambience of this place really reminds me of a club scene in an acceptable way, for a Friday/Saturday night vibe. I would visit again for the tasty drinks.
We tried Cicada Cantina earlier during the pandemic via delivery, but yesterday we were able to finally try it out by dining in at the restaurant. I made reservations ahead of time because I wasn't sure how limited their outdoor seating was. I did notice their indoor dining was open when we arrived also, but I'm glad we made reservations because we got a table right next to the TV and fireplace, and the outdoor "garage" area filled up quickly after we got there! They have a pretty extensive brunch menu and I wanted to try everything, but ultimately decided on the Smothered Carne Asada & Egg Burrito. You can also choose from their regular menu if you don't want brunch also. I paired it with a watermelon iced tea and it was a pretty hefty meal! The burrito was huge, probably twice the size of my husband's omelet meal, so I definitely had leftovers to bring home. It was good, but it was even better when I put some of the chipotle sauce on it that comes with the chips and salsa! I wish there could've been an option for green salsa on this burrito because I definitely would've chosen that. The red sauce was definitely richer and more of a roasted flavor. They have a menu just for doggies too! That's why we picked out this restaurant to bring our dog for his 13th birthday. They brought out a nice big clean bowl of water for him with the rest of our drinks. The menu has three options, so we picked the Pooch Patty. The menu says $5 but the receipt said $4, so I'm not sure if it's dependent on your dogs size maybe. But it was a ton of food!! He loves human food but he still couldn't finish it all. He had to take a break and came back to the bowl to eat a little bit more. It was such a nice experience and I like that they allow the dogs on the garage seating area because the floors are clean and it's not just concrete. All of the staff here were also very friendly! We had a great experience here and I can't wait to come back to try more of their menu items!
What an awesome find! Clean, great friendly service! Large parking lot with fun music playing. Delicious, authentic Mexican food. (So tired of Tex-Mex being called Mexican food) Large drinks, get the diablo, it's a margarita-twist on a mangoñada. I loved my cheese enchilada platter. Everyone with me enjoyed their food and drinks too. Lots of booths; easy to walk with with a large party on a Saturday night without reservations. I haven't been here during the events that take place here, but I hear they are fun!
